California Here I Come!

It's more than a year away from opening, but Disney is not a company to pass up a merchandise opportunity.
This last August, a barewood fruit cart opened up just to the right of the main entrance of Disneyland. Instead of oranges, lemons, and grapefruit, are offered a variety of items sporting the current logo for Disney's California Adventure. Piled in orange crates can be found pens, mugs, watches, postcards, polo shirts, and even backpacks!

Keychains! And Pencils! And Mugs! Oh My!...

When it comes to merchandise, one of the most over-looked areas is Adventureland. Recently, however, with the opening of Animal Kingdom at Walt Disney World, and the transfer of power to the merchandise buyers in Florida, some interesting new items have been spotted grazing for tourist dollars in the tall grasses of Disneyland's Adventureland.
The majority of the merchadise is based on design created for Florida and then "converted" for sale here in California. The best examples of this trend is the new Adventureland mug with matching cloisonne pin and cloisonne keychain. These items have just been released in the past two weeks.
Also released in the past few months is a minor set of pencils with four differnt PVC mother and baby animal pairs. They have the Disneyland logo half way down the shaft, and it was only recently that I noticed them in a small brass can by one of the Adventureland Bazaar cashier stations.
